Not sure if that is one word or two. Maybe hyphenated? The description of Claude Monet's painting uses one word, so I'm going with that.
It's probably because of that painting that I'm reluctant to show you photos of the waterlilies I saw a few days ago. I was so busy looking for the frogs I could hear that I almost forgot to take photos.
But, I'm happy. When I think of Monet's work of art, I don't imagine frogs and what pond is complete without them?
Very pretty. Thanks for visiting my travel blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sharon.
DeleteI love these water lilies and I wish I could grow some here!
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely plants, aren't they?
DeleteBeautiful photos of the water lilies.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bill. I'd love it if every pond had some - and some frogs!
DeleteVery impressive.
ReplyDeleteHi Adrian, Thank you, I feel happy when I see them.
DeleteWaterlilies are among my favourite flowers, and adding frogs makes them perfect :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, Margaret, on both counts. The perfect combination.
DeleteThere is something uniquely beautiful about water lilies, even when compared with other plants, and I can understand why artists have valued them as subjects for their canvass. They also do a wonderful job of regulating the temperature of the water in the pond during a hot summer. And they even serve as seats and hiding places for frogs. I hope you find them next time you look!
ReplyDeleteAs long as I can hear the frogs, I'm happy, David but I do love to see them, too. Frogs are among my favourite creatures.
DeleteI love your waterlilies. A couple of years ago all mine in the pond suddenly died. I've put new plants in which will, hopefully, come to full flower this summer. However it has never deterred the frogs which return year after year.
ReplyDeleteI hope your new waterlilies flourish, Graham. Your pond would be frog haven. I wonder if there are many frogs on the island?
DeleteMargaret, these are great waterlily photos, so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words. (PS I'm Pauline)
ReplyDeleteI love waterlilies. You have beautifully captured the lilies especially the magenta variety looks stunning growing in profusion . I could notice the beautiful water fall midst the nature landscape. It would be my pleasure if you join my link up party related to Gardening where you can share any information pertaining to nature, plant and animals here at http://jaipurgardening.blogspot.com/2021/01/garden-affair-winter-annuals-for.html
ReplyDeleteThose are bezautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey are, aren't they, messymimi? They make a very tranquil scene.
DeleteA great combination of frogs and lilies!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are a part of 'My Corner of the World' this week!
Hi Betty, I hope next time I visit I can see a frog!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous...they are another subject I can never get enough of.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, great photos!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! Very tropical looking scenes.
ReplyDeleteWonderful... Summer seems so very far away here at the moment. (Basically a black&white frozen world here at the moment, with a dusting of snow on top of hard knobby ice...)
