A changed outlook

A last look at the lovely trees along the fence I share with my neighbour.  They had warned me that the arborist would be coming to trim their trees, that their chainsaws and mulcher might be a bit noisy.

I successfully ignored the noise until lunch time and was then alarmed when I looked out the window and saw the workers surveying their handiwork on the avocado tree.  I've never seen a pruned avocado before but I'm not convinced that's how one should look.

Now the outlook from my kitchen window to my corner of the world is very different.

In other news I've now had two visits to a lovely young osteopath and my body is much more at ease.  The horrible fuzzsy head has disappeared completely, the aches and pains are back to normal and, dare I say it? I think my back could be better than before.

I'm linking to My Corner of the World.

  1. No, I am not sure an avocado should look like that either!
I'm glad the osteopath has been able to help you. Having a fall really puts everything out of kilter.

    1. Glad you agree with me about that avocado, Margaret. It will be interesting to see how it recovers.

  2. Some trees, i am convinced, should not be pruned or trimmed much.

    1. I think I'm recovering a lot quicker than those trees will, mimi.

  3. I suspect the blokes are thinking they may have overdone things.
Good to hear you are on the mend.

    1. I wonder at what stage they remembered they'd been asked to trim to shoulder height. I am mending really well now, thanks.

  5. That would be an interesting exercise, Klara. I believe it can be done and that you can even grow them inside if you choose the right variety. Good luck.

    1. Shame they aren't my favourite fruit, Amy but I do like them in a salad.

  7. They were limbed up too high, but maybe that's what the neighbors wanted. If the bottom part is filled in with shrubs (maybe on your side of the fence) it will look fine, if not...well, enjoy the view of your neighbors yard. Glad you are feeling somewhat better.

    1. The neighbour just looked stunned when he came home from work and saw the outcome, it was not what he had in mind, Yvonne. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to grow back.

  9. Well, it seems like new out your window and in your body, too! That's great news that you are better.
I suppose the trees will be OK even with a new haircut!

It's great to see your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week!

  10. Tree loppers get a bit carried away with the power of their power saws, I think!

There are quite a few avocado trees on this property where my little rented abode sits. There are many avocado trees up here on the mountain. I've seen some pruned, but perhaps not quite like that...

I, too, am glad you're feeling much better, Pauline. Keep taking good care. :)
