Budgewoi birds

Lasting impressions of Budgewoi on the New South Wales central coast.

Nah, it's a bit soon for that, I only returned to Brisbane yesterday afternoon.  But right now I am cherishing the memory of all the birds and how co-operative they are to tourists armed with cameras.

Before leaving there was time for a walk around the lake closest to my friend's home.   I can only upload two pics at a time on my little travel gizmo, but can't resist another pelican.  And a shag.

New horizons

I have hundreds of photos to post when I get back home but that won't be until well into September so heres a few from the central coast of New South Wales.

Unfortunately the weather has been quite wet and this afternoon its darn cold so my friend and I are under blankets in front of the heater.

The bird life is abundant, the rainbow lorikeet visit the deck and pelicans are at the end of the street.

Along the creek

It's very dry along the park at the back of my brother's house here on the south side of Brisbane.  There's not much watee in the creek but the ducks and swamp hens are enjoying what's there.

Happy Horses Birthday

One of those expressions that has stuck since childhood is "1 August, the first day of the last month of winter."  Somewhere along the line I've added, "Happy horses birthday."  I don't think the horses that live on this farm are thoroughbreds but happy birthday to them, anyway.  Lucky they aren't Northern Hemisphere horses or they'd have to wait till 1 January and I have other things on my mind that day.
