those little choices we make every day.
I just couldn't warm up my fingers and toes this morning. They got chilled as I was throwning buckets of water over my windscreen to clear the frost from the car.
I had almost made the choice to be miserable and bewail how I'll never get used to New Zealand winters. But then I slowed down to look around me.
I chose to appreciate my world and be happy.
That view would have left me speechless!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous view aside, I have BIG sympathy for cold hands and feet!
Not sure where you were before you lived in NZ - but at least they are better than the UK winters AND 'non' summers! Oh for some good weather! I miss NZ :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is superb countryside you enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLovely light in that photo. I know what it's like to get tired of being too cold, though...
ReplyDeleteThat is a most outstanding photo,Pasuliner. I'm so glad you chose to be happy, it would be a shame to waste that view on a miseryguts! :-)
ReplyDeleteI needed to hear this post, Pauline. It's miserably hot here right now and I'm so cranky.
ReplyDeleteI love this place but the heat of summer is like a fire eating dragon living with us that devours my best intentions to accept summer.
That you have frost on your car somehow makes me feel a bit cooler.
The light and contrasting shadows in the photo are beautiful. I can't place where it was taken from though. I'm assuming it was a fairly early morning photo. Is that correct?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
ReplyDeleteHow dare you be miserable in such splendour.
That is a good attitude but I think I would not like NZ winters.
ReplyDeleteI've been in September and that was mighty cold, but then, I love the cold! Gorgeous pic Pauline. (I thought I was already following you, but apparently not - but I am now!!)
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to catch up!
You live in a beautiful place. And you're right: we can choose to be happy or not.
ReplyDeletereally love this photo. and yes being happy or ... otherwise is a choice. today it was hot in Houston, I prefer the heat - sometime I have to carry a sweater with me because the AC is turned up so cold.
