FSO - Light and dark contrasts

I'm not sure if I get what this topic is all about.  Childminding has been my top priority this week, so I haven't given it much thought.

I took a few shots with the topic in mind.  Right or wrong, here they are.

I'm confident that by the time I've looked at what the rest of the team have posted (here) I'll know a lot more about the light and dark contrasts.

  1. Hey, I didn't have much of a clue either and I'm waiting to see what the others did, too, lol. Having said that I like what you did with the knives in the block. The contrast for me is the sharp knives succumbing to a very blunt piece of wood. There's a hint of danger there that is intriguing to me.

  2. The last picture sums it beautifully. You can never go wrong with silhouette for some contrast shot.

  4. Like Diane B I like the knife handles as a good example of this 'test' this week.

  5. I guess you have to determine if it means a specific contrast...contrast in light, contrast in texture, contrast in feeling...?

  7. For a someone in the dark you sure found your way into the light? LOL? Love the knives. And the first shot probably meets the topic as well as anyone else's.
