I didn't read this week's challenge properly, so have deleted my original post. The subject was Match it!! Match a photo from your town with one of your favorite quotes. A photo....not several.
So I've chosen my favourite Maori proverb....
Turn your face to the sun and your shadow will fall behind you.
As I head away for the weekend I am taking that message with me....look to the future, leave the past behind you.
I imagine this week there will be some wonderful photos and quotes here.
What a wise saying. And a perfect match.
ReplyDeleteWhoops! I did multiple photos and quotes, too, but too late to change it I guess. I really love the quote and the photo seems to express that same joy and hope.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo and I need to listen to the quote. I've been looking away from the sun this week.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard that Maori proverb but I think it's an excellent one (with a very apt illustration!).
ReplyDeleteNever heard of the proverb but a very good one!
ReplyDeletebrilliant, is this a beach in Australia? My husband bought some pristine white sand from Oz.
ReplyDeleteGreat quotation and photo to match.
ReplyDeletePauline,
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great quote! A(I'm about to steal it.) And these kids really do have their shadows behind them in this photo. :)
using only one photo is a challenge for me.... I did it backwards, picked the photo then searched the Internet for a saying I liked that went with how I felt at the time of taking the photo.... well got lucky. The photo of the boys is great. the young one in the middle looks like he is trying to reach forward.... so this works on many levels.
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend.
Have a great week. And a wonderful quote. Somebody told me another one about focusing on the road ahead -- "The windshield is bigger than the rear view mirror for a reason."
ReplyDeleteThat is a marvelous photo. Perfect quote. Great quote. Wish it were easy to do as an adult as it was as a child. Thanks for sharing.

Such simple words, but enormous meaning. I love it and your photo is incredible. Great choice, Pauline.
ReplyDeleteGood quote, and good illustration!
ReplyDeleteLovely Photo Pauline! this is one of my favourite quotes. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good quote for me this week as I turned 50 at the weekend - turn to the sun ( I shall remember that)
ReplyDeleteFabulous quotation and the kid epitomize this perfectly.
ReplyDeletethe kids are having such fun. oh to be young again! love the quotes also.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wise quote which could cover so many aspects in our lives,
ReplyDeleteHello Pauline,
