Because…

today has been such a blustery, cold day and is now turning to a blustery, rainy night, and I feel that autumn is really making her presence felt, I want to cling on to summer.

This shot is courtesy of the charming young film-maker, Nick who is in NZ making a surfing movie SEWN.  When I asked his permission to use the photo he responded, “Yes, please do!”  I don’t describe him as charming for no reason!  (Into the bargain he is devilishly handsome!)

As reluctant farewell to summer here are a few shots taken last week at Ruakaka and Waipu beaches.

Doesn’t everyone love summer – even the birds!

  1. Another wonderful post. I'll have to treat my tripod to a pair of flip flops.

  3. I love all your photos but the ones on the beach are just lovely. I would throw all the live, stranded starfish back into the sea! An impossible task, I know.

  4. I love the photos of the children watching the waves and of course the horseback riders! In my heart's home I would live near the beach.

  5. The starfish are huge, I have never seen them that large. Funny how you are saying goodbye to summer while we are just beginning to say hello.

  6. Love the photo of the group eating fish and chips. Now that is summer.
    Have a great day Pauline.
