Beginning with….the letter Sf

Thank you, Ginger, for passing on the tip of how to compile a photo stack.

It's been a long hot summer and soon it will be gone.  I give thanks that my sights of summer are not the same as those of the people of Christchurch for whom this summer has brought such heartache.
 
Friday again and the Shoot out topic is ... Beginning with the letter S.  To see what S things the rest of the team found, just pop over here. 


As most of you know we live our lives beside a stream.  The above photos were taken along its banks -stones in the bottom, cows resting in shade, strolling beside it, a sign up along the steam on the neighbours property and some seedpods covered in slime fished from the stream.   Over the stream, yet?


A shelf in the bathroom - it's all skin stuff.  I wonder if I will ever use that soap in the pretty wrapper?

Right, keep an eye on that second hand – it is nearly time for a sleep.

I took this photo of my Lewey last Saturday and thought at the time how old and deaf he was getting, that I was able to walk up and take a photo without waking him.  I didn't know that in under a week he would depart on his eternal sleep.  I'm so glad I have this last peaceful photo of him. My last S word is Sad.

    I'm sorry to read that you've lost your Lewey. I'll bet he had a good life with you - and that you have lovely memories of good walks, good cuddles and more than a few laughs at his (in his younger days!) antics.

    Oh Pauline, I'm so sorry about Lewey. We love these animals so much and losing them is a sadness that is indescribable.
    The stream is a beautiful place. May Lewey's spirit run free there.

    Your slide presentations are full of wonderful photos for the Letter S, and your additional shots are very Special as well. Of course your last photo of Lewey is extra Special...I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet.

    the slide shows were great Pauline. I like the card shuffle and or course Lewey. I am sure he had a great life and now is chasing my dog around in doggie heaven.

    I love the slide show, how I would love to live by a stream again. I am sorry you lost your friend, I lost my cat Lint last year after 15 years of friendship... this year I opened the door to a handsome redhaired stranger who decided he was moving in to stay! You can catch a glimpse of him on my blog fast asleep.

    Lewey must be so missed. I know the feeling having lost our dear old cat over the Christmas holidays. A piece of the family puzzle is now missing. so sorry for the loss of your dear old dog.

    Lewey is so sweet and precious. our baby girl is almost 10 and we hate that. i wish i was on a bench sitting and staring at the water and ferns in your header.
