Nearly made the first year anniversary

I first joined the Friday Shoot Out team on 29 May last year.  Another week and I would have made it to a whole year of not missing a single Shoot Out.

But I didn't quite make it.

This week's topic is A Trip to the Zoo.  Our nearest zoo is a good three hour drive away, so a trip during the week was out of the question and I only have one archive photos to fall back on.  And that's of two of my grandchildren visiting a zoo in Australia, hardly my town any more.

And I'm tired after a week of child minding duties, looking after my three grand-daughters.  There were times during the week when I felt like I was head keeper at the zoo, overseeing pet feeding duties.  Each afternoon the calves had to be fed hay, and the pigs, chooks, dogs, cats, birds and turtle had to receive their food.   But somehow I don't think these farm and pet animals fall into the zoo category.

But I'm sure there are plenty of wonderful real zoo animal photos to be seen by just clicking here.

Oh, hold on a minute, what about some flying bears?  (and there are rabbits in that cage, you just can't see them!)

To hell with it, I'm going to post!!

  1. Zoo keeper, indeed!...you are a courageous woman! Those three look like they'd keep you hopping :)
What will you do for rest and relaxation now that things are back to normal?

  2. Great flying bears, Pauline! I bet having three grandkids over is indeed a zoo.

  3. Pop them in the East wing. The trampoline shot is a cracker. However exhausting they are you are lucky to have them. Smaller doses perhaps!

  4. The flying bears were terrific! In fact I think you should send off a copy of the picture to the cryptozoology society for classification. I think you've discovered a new specie.

  5. You go to the Zion place? Didn't know you had grand children? May be you should go to Australia more often, and you will become a perfect zoo keeper. LOL

  12. sounds to me like you have your own private petting zoo, where are the photos. no one said this had to be a city or national zoo.

  14. I like the Koala bear. Hey, you made your one year anniversary. Congratulations for not missing one.

I have to tell you that your granddaughter Jamie made an impression on both my husband and myself. We went dancing while we were out of town (something my husband rarely does) and the next day I was telling him how grateful I was that he took me dancing and then Jamie popped into my head. I took on her accent as I mimicked her skit for her audition and I started moving my body and snapping my fingers and my husband loved it. Jamie's dance fever rubbed off on us.

I think she's going to win. I hope so. She really is the best one.
