I hoped that by looking up the literal meaning of the word I might find an easy way to approach this week's theme - silhouettes - but that just confounded the issue. However, it gave me some satisfaction to learn that Mr Etienne de Silhouette's time in the spotlight was brief and the lending of his name to the word is, in fact, satirical. It is a little ironic that a few of today's shots would have been binned if I'd got around to it, they weren't what I intended them to be when I took them.
Thanks for the challenge, Cindy. For me that was a real challenge.

These last two are dodgy choices, not sure if they fit the category.
Pauline, I really like the last tree photo. It is really pretty. Great shots, all of them.
ReplyDeleteWow -that last tree shot in the fog is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh wow these are lovely - love the shot of the kiddo on the beach and the trees are stunning!! Beautiful hon!! Sarah
ReplyDeleteThe baby on the beach is classic...but my favorite is the tree in the fog. Great shoot out.
ReplyDeleteI love how we all are getting creative in our own way...this one was hard for me, but so cool!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love that 3rd photo!!! And of course the baby on the beach! How sweet is that?
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed learning the history of the word "silhouette" as well. The history of words lends the a depth and richness they wouldn't have otherwise.
ReplyDeleteMany of the silhouette shots I posted weren't intended for that purpose either.
Yes, Carrie, the tree in the fog is my favourite as well. Nice ones Pauline.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know I wasn't the only one looking this up (spelled it wrong the first time, too), and according to the rather loose definition I settled upon, all of your photos qualify very nicely! I like that baby on the beach.
ReplyDeletelove the tree shots. great job! I looked it up also. but we have had nothing but rain for weeks, so I didn't post. have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThe shot of the tree in the fog is wonderful!

ReplyDeleteI love your tree shots, but my favorite is the baby on the beach.
ReplyDeleteOh these are so pretty...I love that baby on the beach, and the one of the family on the beach, but you see the sky and surrounding land.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what happened to me, I saw your FSO photos before but didn't make comment. Now I will - I like the baby on the beach and the tree in the fog, but can't say they are my favorites cause I always like all your photos. see you next week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pix - and clever interpretation of the theme.
