Kaipara fences

A couple of weeks ago I stopped in again at the Kaipara Coast Plant Centre along SH 16 on my way to Auckland.

These are a few more gates positioned so they work as fences.

And a few random art works:

I really liked this and should have got out of the car to get a better angle as it was positioned  above my head.  It is titled "The weathermen".

I'll link to Teresa's Good Fences.

    1. Thanks, Teresa. I was puzzled until I saw the title then, like you, had a laugh.

    1. Glad you liked them, Lee. Now I know they are there I will be tempted to call in every time I pass that way. They are for sale so change constantly.

    1. I like them, too, Kerry. With their special eye wear they are probably as accurate as the scientific guys.

  5. These are much better, I wasn't all that impressed with the rusty shovel gate. I spend my life looking at scrap.

    1. It was the innovative use of scrap that appealed to me, Adrian. That one wasn't there this visit so someone else must have liked it and bought it.

    1. It is, isn't it, Tabor? I've been driving past that garden centre since it opened a few years ago and had no idea it was anything other than a plant centre.

    1. I agree, LV. I should take note of the artists names and see what else they create.

  8. A splendid series of fences. Wouldn't it be great to see something like that up here on Lewis!

    1. No! Graham, no! Oh, OK, the weathermen could have a place. A perfect place when I pause to think about it. But not the gates, they would look trite and silly in the big sky splendour of Lewis. Nothing should even try to compete with that. That's what I think anyway.

    2. Thinking about it you are, of course, absolutely right Pauline. They would look out of place.

    1. It does prove just because it is practical it can also be beautiful. In the right place, that is. :)

  10. I think that art on a gate is very generous as it's for the benefit of everyone passing by.
