The overlooked and ordinary

Even when there's nothing much to see in the rural countryside there's always something if you stop and look around.  It is no longer considered 'best practice" for farmers to leave their bobby calves in roadside pens waiting for collection but, to me, the old pens nearly always look photogenic.

  1. We have to stop and smell the coffee. sometimes we can be in too much of a hurry to see something.

  2. I have a thing for photographing old farm sheds, especially those that are falling apart. Agree with you about the bobby pens though, they seem to be a regularly seen thing while driving along country roads :-)

  4. The best photos - the best moments - are the ones that come on one unexpectedly, even though we might see them everyday. I had to look up 'bobby calf'....learning something new each day!

  5. Just wanted to let you know that I have received two 'spam' messages from your email account in the past few days. Not sure if you've heard this from others - such a nuisance for you.

  6. This is why i like travel on back roads, with no set time i have to be somewhere. There are fabulous sites to see if you just meander!

  7. Oh, I'm out in the paddocks this week as well. I love driving through the backroads and seeing the farms. Though we were travelling at the time and not on the back roads all the time.

  11. The loose wrinkly tin in the last photos would have blown miles away by now if it was on Lewis.
