Hatched and dispatched

My teenage granddaughter dropped in to see me Saturday evening just as it was getting dark.  As she came through the front door I noticed the sky behind her.

Last week my mother lost her Aunt Edie and gained a great-grandchild who has been named Edith.  Aunty Edie was the youngest of my grandmother's 10 siblings and, when I last saw her five years ago, was a very sprightly 90 year old, her only complaint being the doctor had ordered her to stop chopping wood!  The cheek of the man!

I find it hard to believe I come from the same gene pool!

  1. I would so much want some of those genes! This day and age we get too coddled.

  2. It is a great picture and Ideal for a funeral. Not sure it's appropriate for a baby but what do I know and I'm sure the little Edith couldn't care less.

  5. With that many siblings the generations get strung out, My brother is 15b years younger than I am. It mixed up the generations. I'm 75 and I still have an aunt!

  6. Hello Pauline,

Stunning view at the farm. Your Auntie Edie sounds like my Nana, she told the Doctor about the ducks she used to walk down and feed. He told her to give them up, she didn't mention the chooks!

    Have a great week.

    Happy days.
    Bev.

  14. I hope that in her last years Auntie Edie ignored the doc's 'advice'.
