Alive, alive oh

"If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things in nature have a message you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive"
Eleanora Duse (Italian Actress 1858-1924)

I couldn't find any blue sky in which to rejoice yesterday evening as the promised storm approached.  But to my surprise there was a little patch of colour in the western sky, just as the power went out at 5 pm.

And I can rejoice, too, that the quotes of an actress who died 90 years ago are still alive.

  6. Living where you do would make being without power so unimportant I would think. You live in such a beautiful part of the world. You managed to capture a bit of light in the sky that shows off the tree.
Finding wonderful quotes such as you have in this post reminds me how important words are that they are important so many years later.

  8. Beautiful image Pauline!!

I hope you are enjoying the FMS photo a day? I did it back in 2012 but didn't stick with it after 5 months as I was also doing a Project 366 (which I posted to my blog). I had a lot of fun!
