FSO - Imbalance

Imbalance - lack of proportion or relation between corresponding things.  Shots with strong points of interest on one side of an image and ‘emptiness’ in another area. Misproportioned.

I don't think I get this.  But I'm giving it a go.

This is my second attempt.  I posted my first earlier today and thanks to a helpful comment from Adrian, I've cropped the second shot and deleted the others.  I know I'll be having a good look here to learn more about imbalance.

  1. Oh! Dear! I think you may have failed. The first is fine and the second with a little crop on the foreground is a great image.

  2. Beautiful images! I love the way the photographer in the 1st image leads your eye into the photo.

  4. I think both of these are wonderful photos and it would not occur to me to think of them as imbalanced. But I'm not sure I get it either (so I looked for other kind of imbalance).

  5. Awww Pauline, you always say you don't get these things, but every time, you do. You really do get it. I've learned to disregard your humility because I know you will come up with something great. Like this.

  6. Regardless of the balance the first photo is so representative of that part of the country and I just love it. I don't think I recognise the lighthouse. Should I?

  8. I think your photos are lovely. You know what? I didn't really get the assignment either. I'm not sure I understand why anyone would want to take an imbalanced photo. See? I really didn't get the assignment. :)

  9. I think these shots are lovely and what you are experimenting with is creativity - not perfection. It reminds me of the people who travel and buy postcards because the images are perfect. I do buy a few here and there but prefer to make my own memories through my lens - however imperfect the photos are.
